Reforms and progressive economic policies are mostly unpopular but necessary. To implement it, parties have to move away from populism and face criticism. Opposition parties use it as a tool to attack the government in power.
While Yashwant Sinha, LK Advani and others are critical of the Congress government, there is a glimmer of clarity from BJP stalwarts and former minister Arun Shourie and BC Kanduri praising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s recent economic reforms and policies.
